It's official. As of October 8, 2015, Brigham Young University recognizes the women's rugby team. Our first game on South Field was February 27, 2016, and we played the people who helped make it all possible: our very own alumni. Coach Tom said he dreamt about this day years ago, proving that hard work makes dreams come true. This day was one for the books. -- Erica Allen

"On May 7, 2016, the BYU Cougars contended for our first ever national title. Although we fell short in the end, we made history doing so. This video was especially hard for me to make, as this was my last ever rugby trip. This team will always hold a special place in my heart. My years on this team have been some of my most fond college memories, and I'm sad to see the end of the era. I can't wait to see how the Lady Cougars do in the years to come!" -- Erica Allen - BYU Class of 2016

BYU Cougars took on the Buffalos of Colorado University on October 10, 2015. This was the first time the Lady Cougars were allowed to officially call themselves BYU, as the university sanctioned the team just a day before the game. The girls must have been really fired up and ready to represent their school, as they scored a team high of 126 points. The Buffaloes put 7 points on the board. After the game, the B team played two 20 minute halves and dominated 77-0. The BYU Women's Rugby Squad is looking pretty deep this year!
Colorado Springs, CO – The Mountain West got underway last weekend and saw the league favorites register big wins. New Mexico traveled to Colorado State and posted a 57-7 victory, while DI spring finalist BYU shut out Air Force 76-0. Video Editor Erica Allen creates a memorable piece. Watch below.
We made the journey from Provo to Albuquerque to play two games in the national tournament, first beating Cal 97-0, and then UNM 75-5. This video shows how we have fun on and off the field :)
Last year the BYU women's rugby team was one win away from reaching the collegiate final four for the first time in their history. When they learned that playing for that win would have to take place on Sunday, they made the decision not to play.
Brendan Hartigan talks to the team about their season's hopes and missing the chance at the National Title last year.
